By The Knights of the Holy Eucharist
As Knights we are excited to have this year dedicated to St. Joseph, head of the Holy Family and our spiritual father. During this year, we want to honor St. Joseph more and help others to discover him and his powerful intercession.
How we need St. Joseph today! One need only look at his titles in the Litany of St. Joseph to get a glimpse into the truth of this statement. Several favorite titles come to mind: Terror of Demons, Glory of Domestic Life, Pillar of Families, Model of Workmen, Protector of Holy Church.
Today when family life is under such assault, let us encourage husbands and fathers to look to St. Joseph for help and guidance.
St. Thomas Aquinas assures us: "There are many saints to whom God has given the power to assist us in the necessities of life, but the power given to St. Joseph is unlimited: it extends to all our needs, and all those who invoke him with confidence are sure to be heard."
As we beg St. Joseph's intercession for the Church, our country, and our world, we share with you this amazing prayer by St. Francis de Sales:
Glorious St. Joseph, spouse of the Virgin Mary, we beseech you through the Heart of Jesus Christ, grant to us your fatherly protection. O you whose power reaches all our necessities and who knows how to make possible the most impossible things, open your fatherly eyes to the needs of your children. In the confusion and pain which press upon us, we have recourse to you with confidence. Deign to take beneath your charitable guidance this important and difficult affair, the cause of our worries, and make that its happy outcome serve for the glory of God and the good of his devoted servants. Amen.
“Go to Joseph; whatever he says to you, do” (Gen. 41:55).
